IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING FLU VACCINATIONS - 13th SEPTEMBER 2021
We have been advised by the Pharmaceutical company who supply the flu vaccinations to the area that there will be a delay with the delivery due to unforeseen road freight challenges.
Unfortunately this is out of our control and due to the surgery being extremely busy we politely ask that you refrain from contacting us to enquire about your flu vaccination.
Please be assured we will contact all patients as soon as we receive further updates and information.
Please also be aware that we currently have no information as to whether the Covid booster vaccination can be offered at the same time as the flu vaccination.
URGENT NEWS ABOUT BLOOD TESTS - 31ST AUGUST 2021
There is a national shortage of blood bottles, which is expected to last until at least 17th September 2021. This is affecting every healthcare service provider.
We have therefore been told by the NHS to postpone all non-urgent blood tests.
Review all of the required blood tests to determine those that can be safely delayed
Advise you if we feel that you urgently require having blood taken to assist your treatment

CORONAVIRUS - SURGERY UPDATE
IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM BEXHILL GP PRACTICES
Little Common and & Old Town, Sidley & Albert Road Medical Practice, Pebsham & Sea Road, Collington & Ninfield Surgeries regarding COVID – 19 (Coronavirus)
Please be advised that Bexhill GP practices are taking extraordinary measures to keep their patients and staff safe.
We are planning to consult with patients using telephone, email and other digital technology, rather than face to face appointments as the first option. This is to reduce risk to patients or their carers from exposure to infection.
(Please note any digital image submitted as part of an online consultation, will be stored within your clinical notes, for this reason, please do not send any intimate images).
With immediate effect, please DO NOT turn up at any of the practices unless you have a pre-booked appointment. Please call your surgery to make an appointment where you will be triaged accordingly.
Ensure that all prescription requests are sent online or via email, or requests placed in the post boxes outside the surgeries. Prescription requests for Pebsham and Sea Road Surgery patients can be emailed to email@example.com
There may also be a need to cancel or move some non-urgent appointments to ensure we have capacity for those who most need it.
Please be assured, you will be triaged by phone first and an appointment will be made if necessary. These measures will not only keep our patients safe, it will make sure our medical staff are protected so that they are there for you when you need them.
We will continue to do our best to take into account the needs of specific patient groups (such as the deaf community) during this challenging time.
Please continue to follow NHS guidance in regards to household isolation if you have a temperature over 37.8°C, have a new dry cough or flu-like symptoms which have presented in the last 7 days. Call NHS 111 or visit their website if you need further advice.
Visit www.nhs.uk or http://www.gov.uk for more information. The practices’ websites will also be updated regularly.
Thank you for your understanding,
Bexhill GPs and Practice Managers.
Engage Consult should not be used to request home visits or for medical emergencies.
We have introduced a new way to consult with your Practice or Health Professional on line –
Engage Consult allows patients to connect with their GP Practice and access services online from a PC, tablet or smartphone. Patients can access the Engage Consult application directly from our website (see above). Engage Consult provides:
An online consultation that involves answering simple questions about symptoms. Please fully complete the symptom questionnaire which is very useful for the GP or Healthcare Professional. A report is then sent through to the GP or other Healthcare Professional, who can respond with the best course of action - e.g. seeing the patient face to face or by video link, phoning the patient with advice or issuing a prescription.
This service is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and consultations are reviewed every working day. If a patient sends a consultation outside the hours the practice states it can get back to the patient (the cut-off time), the patient will receive a response the next working day. Patients should only use the Engage Consult service to discuss routine medical problems. The service can also be used for administrative enquiries, medication enquiries, requests for a sick note or informing the Practice of change of address.
TELEPHONE APPOINTMENT BOOKING
Please be understanding of the fact that you will be asked for brief details of why you are requesting an appointment so that the reception staff can make your appointment with the most suitable healthcare professional for your need.
This might include an appointment being made with a Nurse practitioner (who can pretty much see you for everything that a GP can, she can prescribe, diagnose and refer as well), or a Paramedic Practitioner.
CQC INSPECTION OF THE SURGERY
The overall rating for the surgery after the CQC inspection in May 2018, was Good.

LIVI - VIDEO CONSULTATIONS
Patients of Pebsham & Sea Road Surgeries can now see an NHS GP by video using LIVI. Get medical advice, prescriptions and referrals on the same day-even at weekends. The service is provided free on the NHS.
You can download the LIVI app to your mobile phone or tablet, at the App Store of Google Play. Or visit www.livi.co.uk for more information.
LIVI GPs are all GMC-registered NHS GPs, who (with your consent) will be able to access your medical records and give you a considered, in depth diagnosis based on your medical history.
Get the LIVI app here: https://bit.ly/2ZGrYV0
For long term repeat medication you will be given a tick box form (a tear off slip attached to your prescriptions) to complete and return to your surgery.
Please allow two clear working days (excluding weekends and Bank Holidays) to enable any queries to be cleared.
We cannot accept telephone requests for prescriptions as it would block telephone access for emergencies and could lead to confusion with similar sounding medication names etc.
Some chemists run a repeat service and/or collection and deliveries in certain cases. Please check with your preferred chemist for their services.
